Unique stories in our papers this weekend – The ‘Cake Boss’ effect, and more…

HUDSON COUNTY — Even if you’re taking off for the weekend, don’t miss the stories in the print and on-line editions of our nine newspapers Sunday!
For instance: Everyone talks about the ‘Cake Boss’ reality show, based in Hoboken, but how has it affected nearby businesses — and have residents benefited, or suffered? Some complain about long lines, while others have made money off the Cake Boss craze. One office next to Carlo’s Bakery has had to stop tourists from clogging its toilets. Find out more on the cover of the Hoboken Reporter this weekend.
Meanwhile, in Secaucus, the sale of Meadowlands Hospital to a group of investors is still waiting for state approval. Unions at the hospital want to know whether all of the staff will be kept on. The potential new owners say they can’t comment on that right now, although they do intend to keep the facility as a hospital. They also mentioned some changes to increase business. Find out more on the cover of the Secaucus Reporter.
And in Jersey City, the third version of a redevelopment plan for the Journal Square area comes up for a vote this month.
These and other big stories are coming to you this weekend — so read and enjoy!
