High achievers

Bayonne High School seniors win awards

Although Bayonne High School isn’t scheduled to hold its graduation until June 28, the school took time to acknowledge its academic leaders at a special awards ceremony on June 2.
While the “Circle of Ten” – which represents the 10 highest ranking achievers in each year’s graduating class – gets significant attention, the recent ceremony also honored the other students who left their mark over the last four years.
Like last year, the senior awards ceremony was held in the high school auditorium, where family and friends gathered to pay tribute to students of achievement.

“We’re very proud of these students.” – Dr. Patricia McGeehan
________

“We’re very proud of these students,” said Schools Superintendent Dr. Patricia McGeehan.
Bayonne High School Principal Richard Baccarella said this was a particularly “cooperative class.”
“Our senior class this year is one of the finest in many years,” he said. “The students qualified for millions of dollars in scholarships and they’ve had a high percentage accepted into colleges.”
This class, he said, stood out because they were able to work together through cooperation, Baccarella said.
