Funeral mass was offered June 23 at St. Lawrence Church, Weehawken, for Frank Passaretti, 94. He died June 19 at Holy Name Hospital, Teaneck. He was a foreman for Socony Mobile Corporation in New York City before retiring in 1980. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II with the 116th artillery and fought in the Normandy invasion on D-Day, the Ardennes Forest and in the Battle of the Bulge. Born in New York City, he lived there for 44 years before moving to Union City in 1960. Frank was recently predeceased by his wife, Mary. He was the father to Joseph Passaretti and his wife Delores, Mary Ann Cheplic and her husband Thomas, Elizabeth Speicher and her husband Gene, and Frank Passaretti and his wife Diana. He was also the grandfather of 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Sam Passaretti of Paramus and Anthony Passaretti of Queens, NY.
