Funeral services were held June 24 at St. Michael’s Methodist Church, Jersey City, for Raymond J. “Mohammad” Buchanan, formerly of Jersey City. He passed away June 16 in Kansas City, Mo. Raymond leaves behind his daughter, Kenyetta Tiara and three grandchildren. He is survived by his sister Polly “TC” Aiken and her husband Levi; his brother Robert “Bobby” Watson, and his wife Elnora, and his brother Luther Carnell Buchanan. He was predeceased by his sisters, Cortell Lewis and Patricia Ann Colonel, as well as brothers, Luther “Dico” Buchanan, R. Luther Johnson, and Jerome Buchanan. Special mention is extended to his niece Donna Buchanan; his aunt Shirley Watson; and “Brothers in Friendship” William “Bill” Foreman (Kansas City) and Joe Ballon, Jr. Raymond is also survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews and other family and friends who will miss him and his contagious smile greatly.
