Graveside services with military honors were to be scheduled at the convenience of the family of John Elliot Avery, 78, of Wilkes-Barre, Pa., formerly of Hoboken. He passed away June 4 in Manor Care- Hampton House, Hanover Township. Born in Dallas, Pa., he was the son of the late Jack Elliot Wilkins and Maude Mae Avery. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was an exceptional automobile mechanic. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Nancy Piretra. Surviving are his daughter Joanne Avery, and his son, John Avery; his sister Betty Davis; and a niece and two nephews. Services arranged by the Simon S. Russin Funeral Home, Plains, P.
