Body found off AC Expressway could be that of missing North Bergen man

NORTH BERGEN AND BEYOND — Authorities believe that a body found Sunday morning in a town off the Atlantic City Expressway may be that of Martin Caballero of North Bergen, who was believed to have been carjacked while on a trip to Atlantic City with his family a week ago Friday.
The Press of Atlantic City reported, “Investigators found what they believe to be the remains of Martin Caballero off Leipzig Avenue, which is near the area of Exit 12 of the Atlantic City Expressway. A farmer found the body early Sunday morning, which led investigators to a section of a farm.
” ‘Those police were back there all day. It’s horrible,’ Arnold Liepe said as he sat on his tractor. Liepe said it was his nephew, Teddy Liepe, 54, who found the body early this morning off a dirt road that connects to another portion of the family’s farm.
“The narrow dirt road juts off into farm land. The thick mud is tamped down with fresh foot prints. A pair of latex gloves are discarded in high grass and an orange flags is stuck in the ground near a patch of flattened grass.
“There has been no positive identification, but Atlantic County Prosecutor Ted Housel said at a press confernce this afternoon that it is likely Caballero, who has been missing since May 21.”
Two suspects have been arrested for the alleged carjacking.
