May 24 meeting will focus on Hoboken Library’s future

Dear Editor:
Do you, as a Hoboken resident, wonder what the Hoboken Public Library will look like, feel like and work like in the future? Will it be able to meet the needs of Hoboken’s diverse public, from children to seniors, major ethnic groups, professional and non-professional citizens? If you do, you are invited to a Town Hall meeting at the Library, 500 Park Ave., on Monday, May 24, to discuss a strategic plan on the future of the Library.
The Library’s Board of Trustees and the Library Staff will host the meeting and invite the public to discuss the proposals, including the need to expand and the lack of space.
During the meeting, the library’s director, along with planning committee members and a planning consultant, will present the results of telephone surveys and leadership interviews conducted in recent months and will discuss strategic planning for the Library now through 2014.
Members of the public are invited to learn more about the planning process, discuss the draft of the plan and give input regarding the future of the Hoboken Public Library. Please RSVP by calling (201) 420-2347 or emailing hobkref@bccls.org.
