WEEHAKWEN AND BEYOND — A woman was found dead in a car parked in a garage for the Riva Pointe Condominiums in Weehawken around 8 a.m. this morning.
Weehawken police initially responded to a call from someone who saw a man slumped over in the car. The police then called for emergency services and contacted Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Squad. The woman was found in the passenger seat along with a man who was slumped over but alive in the drivers seat. De Fazio said the man is being treated at the hospital and is expected to recover.
“It does not appear to be a homicide,” said DeFazio.
He said that although they are unsure of the cause of death at this time, it may have involved drugs.
The prosecutor’s office is not releasing the identities of either the man or the woman at this point but believe that the woman is 26 and the man is 33.
DeFazio said that neither of the individuals is a Weehawken resident and they were apparently visitors at the condos. Interviews with individuals connected to the case are currently underway.
