HOBOKEN — The paving of roads in Hoboken has caused some traffic and parking nightmares, so here’s an update of what to expect in the near future.
According to City Hall:
Thursday, the city expected to be paving Hudson Street from Sixth Street to Observer Highway and milling Newark Street from Willow Avenue to Monroe Street.
Depending on work progress, on Friday, Newark Street from Willow Avenue to Monroe Street would most likely be paved, with another street being milled, although the city could not say which street when asked..
Roadwork is conducted from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and there is no parking on the street where work is going on. The city said they are posting “no parking” signs on those streets the night before the milling or paving begins.
The work will not be conducted on weekends.
Roadwork will continue throughout the city for the coming weeks as long as the weather is suitable for work.
City Hall was unable to say for sure where the roads will be worked on next week, but we will post updates as we get them. The city said they will be keeping residents updated.
If residents have questions about the roadwork, they are invited to call City Hall at (201) 420-2033. – TJC
