Dear Editor:
Once again, our wonderful community has generously donated goods and services for our annual fundraiser for the Hoboken Historical Museum, “The Great Hoboken Auction”, which will be held May 1 at the Williams Library on the Stevens campus.
We are happy to tell you that there will be FREE PARKING at the lot on 8th Street and Castle Point Terrace.
I am particularly excited about a number of the special items which will be in our live and silent auctions.
Among the behind-the-scenes treats (which are not available to the general public), we will auction off:
– A tour of Carlo’s bakery with “The Cake Boss” Buddy Valastro
– A backstage tour of the Met with a Met Opera diva
– A tour of the Macy’s parade factory and VIP seats for the parade
Or, you can bid on a chance to learn:
– Chocolate making at Schnackenberg’s
– Italian pastry making with Mary-Grace Castiello of Giorgio’s
– Mah johnng with the “Loving Mah Johnng Cousins”
Or, you can participate in special events:
– Ride a Fire Truck down Washington St. in the Memorial Day parade
– A guided kayak trip on the Hudson
– Party on the waterfront to see the Fourth of July fireworks
This is just a brief list of what will be available. There will be many gift certificates and items to bid on. There is something for everyone in all price ranges. Items for men, women, kids, pets and your home.
When you come to the auction, you are supporting our wonderful museum and its many programs for adults and children. As a non-profit organization, our fundraiser is important to us, so YOU are important to us.
Doors will open at 6 PM and the Live Auction will start at 7:30. Our auctioneer is the always wonderful Eugene Flinn of Amanda’s restaurant.
We hope to see you there. Bring your friends!
