Dear Editor:
I am writing to ask Jersey City residents to vote for Carol Lester in the school board election on April 20th. Carol is a co-founder of the Learning Community Charter School (LCCS), a public and unionized school. Additionally, she served as the board president for six years. Carol understands state and national education mandates, how to empower teachers and how to avoid unnecessary spending.
Electing Carol will ensure that the school budget is cut at the administrative level keeping funds in the classroom. She will review every single position in and outside of the school and administration buildings to make cuts which will not adversely affect students and classroom learning. She will review all bidding and vendor agreements and combine administrative duties to shrink the administration.
Carol believes in supporting every good idea that teachers and their principal feel will bring success. She knows they need to be free from the top heavy control of the board of education and the administration in order to succeed. Please vote for Carol Lester on April 20th.
Thank you,
Norrice Raymaker
