Guest Speaker

Former Congressman Frank J. Guarini (third from left) was the guest speaker at a special meeting of New Jersey City University’s Student Investment Management Group (SIM Group), a campus organization designed to give students hands-on experience in live stock trading. Established in 2006 with $100,000 in investment funds contributed by Congressman Guarini, the Bank of New York, and the NJCU Foundation, Inc., the SIM Group meets weekly to discuss the market research and tweak its investment portfolio. Gathered with the guest speaker at the meeting, which was held at NJCU’s off-campus site at the Harborside Financial Center on the Jersey City waterfront, were (from the left): Joseph Mendoza of Jersey City, an NJCU senior majoring in finance; Peter John Jose of Jersey City, an NJCU graduate student majoring in finance who is president of the SIM Group; Dr. George Zhengzheng Li, an associate professor of finance who serves as faculty advisor to the Group; David Ksepko of Bayonne, an NJCU junior majoring in finance; Jennifer Munoz of Lyndhurst, an NJCU senior majoring in international business and finance with a minor in economics; and Jimmy Tang of Jersey City, an NJCU senior majoring in finance.
