Funeral services took place April 9 at Monumental Baptist Church in Jersey City for Michael Muchioki, 27, of Jersey City. He died suddenly with his fiance, Nia Haqq, on April 4. He grew up in Jersey City. He went to Marist High School, where he was a member of the football team. He was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity through attending NJIT. He is survived by his parents, Sandra and Erastus Muchioki; his sisters, Amanda Muchioki, and Latoya White and her son Davaughn White; his sister and brother-in-law Patricia and Raymond Waters, and their children Alexis, Raymond Jr., Destiny and Antonio. He left his grandparents, James and Patricia McTamney, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins both here and in Kenya. His friends will celebrate him for the rest of their lives.
