JERSEY CITY–At 2:30 a.m. on Easter Sunday, Jersey City resident Lisa Fadden tied her black Scottish terrier outside of the Journal Square 7-11 to pick up milk. She kept her eye on the dog the whole time.
While she was about to buy her groceries, she saw a man untie her dog and start to walk away with him.
She dropped her groceries and gave chase. She was close, but the man got into a car with the dog and sped off on Sip Avenue.
When the police responded, she gave them the license plate number. She said that in the car, a report came in over radio that the car was a Jersey City car, and that it was “nearby.”
However, she said said the police did not elaborate, and have not given her any information since.
Wednesday morning, she said she still had not gotten an update, although the story ran on Channel 7 news as well.
Wednesday morning, Jersey City police spokesman Stan Eason said that the case was a “very active investigation” but declined to get into specifics.
Fadden is desperate to find her dog and is offering a $500 reward, no questions asked. She just wants her dog back.
