‘Clean sweep’

To the Editor:
When Leonard R. Kantor is elected mayor of Bayonne, I want to get the children and adults of our city involved. I will ask them to take pride in their city. If we all want to have a better quality of life, we all have to work for it and stop complaining.
I will go to our schools and speak before the students and their parents. I would ask for their help in not using graffiti, throwing litter and gum on our sidewalks and streets. I will ask the people who jog on our sidewalks, streets and in our parks to carry a pen and paper with them. They could make a note of bad sidewalks, pot holes, chemical waste, etc. I will have a “mayor’s mail box” at the front entrance to City Hall to put your information into. I personally will read it!
Adults should set an example to the children that they also care by making a clean sweep periodically in front of their home sidewalk and gutters. Tenants could all help and pitch in. I will inform sanitation trucks to stop dropping refuse on our streets and to homeowners not to overload refuse cans. I will inform all city workers, police and fire who use city vehicles to report any adverse conditions in our city.
I do not believe that our city has to create city managers to do this work. It is not necessary for our city to waste money on non-essential jobs! Please vote for Leonard R. Kantor on Election Day so that I can implement this program, “Clean Sweep.” Thank you!

LEONARD R. KANTOR
