SHAUGHNESSY, JEAN F

A funeral mass was offered March 20 at St. Ann’s R.C. Church, Hoboken, for Jean F. Shaughnessy, 87. She passed away March 15 at the Bristol Manor Heath Center in Rochelle Park, N.J., where she resided for a short period of time. Jean was born in Hoboken to Belgian immigrants Peter and Charlotte Block. She was predeceased by her husband Kenneth in January of this year. She was also predeceased by her only sister, Philomena May. Jean was a bookkeeper in Hoboken for 20 years and eventually became a bookkeeping administrator for Ambassador Averil Harriman’s Personal Trust Accounts at Brown Brothers Harriman in New York City, retiring in 1985. Jean and her husband moved to Toms River, N.J. where she was extremely active at the Holiday City Senior Development. She was treasurer and president of the Women’s Club, overseeing over 1,000 members. Jean is survived by two daughters, Corrie Brouwer and Toni Dell’Aquila and her husband Louis. She was the grandmother of Ben and his wife Deidre, Kenneth and his wife Elieen, Jill and her husband Anthony, Scott and his wife Caryn, Jason, Debra, Gina and her husband Joseph, and is survived by nine great-grandchildren, Kirk, Luke, Caiden, Cassidy, Kenneth, Liam, Justin, Shannon, and Alexander. Services arranged by the Failla Memorial Home, Hoboken.
