A funeral mass was offered March 26 at Sts. Joseph and Michael Church for Michael J. Ricciardi Sr., 52 of Lodi. He passed away March 21. Michael was born in Jersey City and lived most of his life in Weehawken before moving to Lodi in 1983. He graduated from Ramapo College in Mahwah where he founded the Sports Intramural Program. He remained at Ramapo and became the Athletic Director, a post he held until his passing. Michael was a former Boy Scout leader, AAU Girl’s Basketball Coach, a member of the Sts. Joseph and Michael Sports Program, former Ramapo College Girl’s Basketball coach and for 20 years a certified High School and College Referee. He was also the current commissioner of the Northeast chapter of the Collegiate Volleyball Association. Michael was the husband of Anna Ricciardi and the father of Michael Ricciardi Jr. and Christina Ricciardi. He was the brother of Steven Ricciardi, Adrianne Di Iorio, Augie and Theresa Ricciardi and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Services arranged by the Leber Funeral Home, Union City.
