Dear Editor:
People don’t realize how important the police and fire departments are until they have an emergency situation.
A few years ago we accidently let a robber into our home. We thought it was our tenant, when it was too late we found out it was not.
My husband and I were senior citizens. The robber pushed himself into the apartment and started wrestling with my husband. I called 911, in the meantime another member of the family came to help us. The robber hit him in the head with a gun and put handcuffs on him. The intruder had already duct-taped my husband hands and put handcuffs on me.
In about three minutes the cops responded and took control of the situation bought him to the floor handcuffed and arrested him.
We all escaped with minor injuries because of the professionalism and speed with which the police responded.
Sincerely,
The Mannino Family
