Dear Editor:
I recently read an article about not giving Veterans a COLA (Cost of Living) increase in their disability payments. I was told that the COLA amount was not determined by Congress, but computed using a formula specified by law. I also found that Congress enacted a law giving its members not only COLA every year, but a raise as well.
Like the Obama health bill – Give us what our Congress gets – no more or no less. Most of our congress never served in the military and do not depend on their disability payments to live.
It is time for Congress to think more about constituents and less about themselves.
