GIANNICO, MARGERET

A service of remembrance took place March 19 for Margaret Giannico, 82, of Beverly Hills, Fla. She died March 15 at the Citrus Hospice House. She was born Margaret Drake in Elizabeth. There she and her future husband, Ernest, grew up, later married and raised a family. They settled in nearby Union Township in 1962, where they remained until moving to Beverly Hills in 1991. Margie and Ernie, as they were known, were married for 55 years before Ernie, a World War II U.S. Army veteran, died in July 2002. A wife, mother, and homemaker, caring for and enjoying her family were her passions. She excelled at crossword puzzles, card and word games. She loved talking and learning about food and cuisine, and was a wonderful cook herself. Margie also appreciated a wide array of musical styles, classic movies, comedy shows, talking and laughing. She will be missed by her survivors, including four children: Rodger Giannico of Nice, France; Donald Giannico and wife Diane of Barnegat; Joan Vitale and husband Gary of Elizabeth, and John Giannico and wife Rita of Spotsylvania, Va. She was the grandmother of Andre Giannico and wife Laura of Hillsdale, and Brice Giannico of Ceyreste, France. She also leaves a sister, Gertrude Michalko and sister-in-law Kathleen Drake (both of Beverly Hills), and a brother-in-law Attilio Giannico and wife Gloria of Holmdel. Services arranged by Hooper Funeral Homes.
