New taxi stand defies physics and common sense

Dear Editor:
For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Not true. When you add in multiple shuttles and a fleet of cabs, and force them all in a dead end, the reaction has been chaos. I don’t have a degree in traffic management, but common sense should dictate that when you multiply traffic in a dead end 50-fold, the amount of time the light is green to alleviate backup should be changed to meet the demand. Currently, with pedestrian’s right of way, 2-3 cars make it through each light. Can’t change the light? Then take a fraction of the $2000/idiot St. Pat’s revenue and put a traffic cop at the intersection during rush hour at night!! And in the morning rush, we’ll still feel just as safe/deterred with 3 officers checking bags instead of 4. Problem solved.
