Union City bank robbed by Yankee fan

UNION CITY AND BEYOND — The TD Bank at 800 Summit Ave. in Union City was robbed Monday, police said. They described the suspect as a: “Hispanic Male, Light Skin, Facial Stubble, 5’10”-5’11”, 35-45YOA, Last Seen Wearing; Blue Baseball Cap w/ white letters on the front “Bronx Bombers” and the NY Yankee Emblem, Blue turtle neck shirt with gold colored letters on the collar, Black or dark blue leather jacket, Blue jeans, Black gloves.
Police said the man approached a teller at the bank and handed a note that demanded money and threatened a handgun. No handgun was displayed. The teller handed over approximately $2,000 in cash and the man was last seen walking north on Summit Avenue from Eight Street.
Investigator said there is a possible connection with two other bank robberies in Union City: One on Feb. 11 at the TD Bank at 4313 Bergenline Ave. and one last July 13 at the Bank of America at 4800 Bergenline Ave.
The public is urged to contact the Union City Police at 201-865-1111 if they have information. In the event anyone sees this person on the street, they are urged to call 911 immediately or when safe to do so. He is to be considered armed and dangerous.
