VISCONTI, JOSEPH

A mass of Christian burial was offered March 9 at St. Maximilian Kolbe R.C. Church, Berkeley Twp., for Joseph Visconti, 80 of Silver Ridge North section of Berkeley Twp. He died March 6 at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. Born in Hoboken, he lived in North Bergen and Avenel before moving to Silver Ridge North three and a half years ago. Joseph was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He was the owner of Park Superette, in West New York, and worked with the Meat Cutters Union at FoodTown in Englewood. Joseph was a member of the Knights of Columbus Barrett Council, West New York. He was predeceased by two sons, Wayne and Joseph Jr., and by two sisters, Grace O’Shea and Rosina DeGennaro. Surviving are his wife, Lorraine (nee Schleimer); his son Jeffrey and his wife Lucie of Clinton, NJ; two daughters, Lorraine and her husband John Packer of Weehawken, and Linda and her husband Jeff Welty of Warminster, Pa.; a brother Nicholas of Toms River, NJ; a sister Dolores Sodano of Manchester, NJ; six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
