Dear Editor:
It is very unfortunate that Dr. Frank Romano withdrew his nomination as the Hoboken Superintendent of Schools. As a parent who attended the Superintendent Candidate Forum, I found Dr. Romano to be professional, dedicated, intelligent and well—qualified. Most of all, he is an educator with a fantastic vision of Hoboken’s children meeting their potential and was driven to make our school district successful.
Many parents are disappointed by this turn of events. It is easy to be discouraged by this setback since our children deserve a well-run, superior education for our tax dollars.
As the quest for a new Superintendent continues, I ask the Board of Education, including the newly elected members, to seek similarly qualified candidates as Dr. Romano.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Christine Gladbach
