Funeral mass was offered March 10 at Sts. Joseph and Michael Church for Elizabeth “Betty” O’Donnell, 63, of Union City. She passed away March 7 at St. Michael Medical Center in Newark. She was born in Jersey City and lived most of her life in Union City where she was a clerical worker for the Passionist Missions for over 35 years before retiring. Betty was also a member of the Sts. Joseph and Michael Sports Association. She was the wife of John O’Donnell and the daughter of Florence Bartley. She was the mother of John O’Donnell and Denise Bowen and mother in law of Lisa O’Donnell and Michael Bowen; the sister of Margaret Lazar and the late Robert and Thomas Bartley as well as the grandmother of Brittany Bowen, Brittany O’Donnell and Jacqueline Bowen.
