New Leadership in Jersey City

Dear Editor:
The New Jersey based Democratic organization is in need of some-type of face lift. And we need new faces in office to further the party. The type of faces people like, and would support. In Hudson County, the people are tired of the current faces they see, and those that are in power on the Democratic side are walking into probes of corruption—on the notion of greed. I think we need to support a youth movement and help: The next Generation of Leaders—by supporting and bringing in Omar Dyer, who’s working hard to grassroots this movement and that’s the type of change a lot of people wanted to see. I had an un-successful campaign run in the 31 district, only to lose on a corruption probe of greedy and dirty politics.
New Leadership in Jersey City starts with fiscal responsibilities, the Jersey City Housing Authority has released it comparative balance sheet for the fiscal year. Where there net assets are at $183,387,677 (2009) which is down from $186,428,849 (2008)! New Jersey’s low income and subsides housing brought in a total of $11 million on tenant revenues, and $34 million on federal subsides—while getting zero dollars in government grants.
That means the low income and the poor have been carrying the full load of Jersey City. While others have faced challenges in home foreclosure—the low income and middle class have been picking up the tab. Also with the current blast on teenage crime and how people are in judgment mode for Kwadir Felton. It’s important that we all take notice that he was just a child entering adult-hood. And if he was in his late 20’s and early 30’s my reaction would be different. We still had time to mentor and re-tool him to be a better citizen. Mr. Felton didn’t deserve to be shot, and the evidence in his case will show he was judged before trial. Citizens of Jersey City, no matter what the Police Chief will spin, even though many of his crew is working too hard – the fact remain clear: Kwadir Felton was still a child.
