Dear Editor:
As a senior citizen and usual supporter of Mayor Zimmer, I must dissent from her endorsement of the St. Patrick’s Day events in Hoboken. If the demographics of this group exceed any other here, I would like to see the numbers. I see no such lame excuses for disruptive behavior, which the cosmetic admonishment “zero tolerance” is suppose to reign in, in other ethnic groups who make up our city. Let us be clear. It is a nod to the bar owners and other commercial interests of Hoboken. Nothing else explains the mass migration of rabble rousers from outside the city.
If those, myself included, wish to celebrate the occasion, let us do it in quiet reflection of the ecstasy of our Irish lineage.
