Undersheriff says he’ll run against county sheriff

HUDSON COUNTY — County Undersheriff Frank Schillari announced on Monday his candidacy for the office of Hudson County sheriff. Schillari, who has served as an undersheriff in the department since 1997, has a 33-year law enforcement background. A Democrat, Schillari will file nominating petitions to run in the June Democratic primary election.
He will likely face current County Sherrif Juan M. Perez in the primary.
Schillari is a U.S. Navy veteran and retired Secaucus Police Sergeant. He lives in Secaucus with his family.
