A laptop and a bag of feces

On Saturday, Feb. 20, police responded to a fight at 10th and Adams streets. There, a man accused his married friend of hitting on his girlfriend.
Police said the boyfriend, Carlo Gesualdi, 37, Guttenberg, allegedly admitted to police that he came to Hoboken to have a fight with the victim. Gesualdi told police that the victim had hit on his girlfriend at a Super Bowl party.
According to the report, Gesualdi called the victim and asked him to come outside to help Gesualdi with a new laptop, still in the box. The victim came outside and when he tried to shake Gesualdi’s hand, Gesualdi allegedly punched him in the face and knocked him to the ground, police said. When the victim got up, Gesualdi allegedly hit him in the face with the boxed laptop, weighing approximately 12 pounds.
While the man was on the ground again, Gesualdi allegedly tore his shirt and attacked him with a barrage of punches and kicks.
Then, according to police, Gesualdi took out a brown paper bag filled with his feces and rubbed it in the victim’s face. Another man from the street broke up the fight.
Gesualdi was charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of weapons, and possession of weapons for unlawful purposes.

Throwing snowballs, punches

Police arrested two juveniles for assaulting a Hoboken man after the man took offense to “ice balls” being tossed at his car, police said.
The victim was driving to work on Willow Avenue at 2:44 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 19 when a group of Hoboken juveniles allegedly hit his windshield with multiple “ice balls” at Sixth Street, he told police.
The victim circled the block to admonish the juveniles, and he met one of them at Eighth and Clinton streets.
He exited the vehicle and while he was confronting one of the individuals, another juvenile male allegedly punched him in the face, causing him to fall to the ground, he said.
When he was trying to get up, another juvenile pushed him back to the ground and others continued to assault him, police said.
The victim suffered bruising and cuts on his face and a chipped tooth, but refused medical attention.
Police rounded up some of the juvenile suspects, and the victim indentified two juveniles who allegedly assaulted him.
Both were charged with aggravated assault and detained at the Hudson County Juvenile Detention Center in Secaucus.
Another witness identified some of the other juveniles, but the victim could not confirm the ID; police released these males.

More than coffee

Police responded to a coffee shop on Newark Street when a caller reported a man passed out in the bathroom.
Officers responded at 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 19 after the Hoboken Volunteer Ambulance Corps had found the man passed out on the floor, allegedly in possession of a hypodermic needle.
The man, a 25-year-old resident of West New York, told police he was a recovering heroin addict who had relapsed due to stresses in his life.
Police found a syringe and a metal spoon with white residue commonly used to prepare heroin.
He was arrested for possession of narcotics, and police also found three outstanding warrants on him from Jersey City, they said.
