Hats off to the Hoboken Fire Dept.

Dear Editor:
Very often we read of the heroic sacrifices made by fire fighters on a routine basis to ensure the safety of the community they swore to protect. What is not always mentioned is the day to day service which members of the fire department provide to residents of their community.
Earlier this week after smelling a strange odor in our building we called The Hoboken Fire Department to report the smell. Within minutes of placing the call, firemen were outside our residence and spent well over an hour tediously examining every room, every wall and every outlet of our four-story brownstone until they located the source of the odor, which was apparently electrical. Led by Battalion Chief Michael Turner, the fire fighters demonstrated the utmost professionalism, expressing a sincere concern for the situation at hand and an unwillingness to leave without resolving it. Even after they left, Chief Turner called back later in the evening to make sure all was well and offered to send over additional fire fighters at anytime if the odor returned.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank the Hoboken Fire Department for their service and remind them of how appreciate they are in the community.

Sincerely,

The Mullins-Cummings Family
