Hudson County Director of Corrections Oscar Aviles has earned the Certified Corrections Executive (CCE) designation from the American Correctional Association (ACA). Applicants for certification must first qualify for consideration based on their experience and accomplishments and then take a comprehensive examination that tests their knowledge as a Corrections Executive. The CCE designation is an indication of demonstrated professionalism that includes supervising human resources, demonstrating leadership skills, managing change, maintaining operational oversight and general knowledge concerning the field of corrections. Director Aviles, a 21-year veteran of the County Department of Corrections, also serves as the Vice President of the New Jersey County Jail Wardens Association. Aviles, (left) presented his official designation certificate to Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise earlier this week.
