A funeral mass was offered Feb. 11 at Immaculate Conception R.C. Church for Robert J. Mitchell, 78, formerly of NYC. He passed away at home on Feb. 7 surrounded by his family. Robert served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War receiving the Purple Heart. He was retired from Chase Manhattan Bank in NYC and from the Secaucus Board of Education where he was a custodian. Robert was a parishioner at Immaculate Conception Church where he was an usher. He was the husband of Margaret “Sissy” Mitchell; the father and father-in-law of Robert and Lauren Mitchell, Tracey and Frank Diovisalvi and Michele and John Buttgereit; the grandfather of Robert, Alyssa, Ryan, Brittany, Christian, Erin, Holly and Matthew, and the brother of Lillian Wood and Dolores Francin. Services arranged by the Mack Memorial Home, Secaucus.
