Dear Editor:
The Friends of the Hoboken Charter School would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Doctor, Muller Insurance, Carlos Bakery, and Flowers by Diane for their recent donations to our Annual Fund Drive. We would also like to thank La Isla, Sparrow Wine and Liquors, State Farm Insurance and Starbucks for their continued support and contributions. Your contributions to our school will help us to find a permanent home so that we can continue to support and cultivate Hoboken’s vibrant and diverse community by teaching our students about “service learning” and how each of us can make a difference. Hoboken Charter School was again proud this year to coordinate the March on Washington Street and the Sing out for Justice events for the entire community to celebrate Martin Luther King Day. Each spring we sponsor Empty Bowls, another community wide event, which benefits The Hoboken Shelter and offers our students unique opportunities to work with the shelter, baking cookies and participating in luncheons at the shelter. Like many other schools, the Hoboken Charter School offers an educational experience with a focus on giving back to the community. We so greatly appreciate the local businesses in this community who have given back to us. Your generosity will help secure a great future for our school.
Sincerely,
Jane McConnell HCS Annual Fund Coordinator
