A mass of Christian burial was offered Feb. 6 at St. Vincent’s Church, Bayonne, for Mary Capetola . She passed away Feb. 2 after a long illness. Born in Gioi, Cilento, Italy, Mary resided in Jersey City since 1930. She graduated from P.S. 12 and Lincoln High School. A housewife and mother, Mary was a member of St. Patrick’s and St. Aedan’s Rosary Societies as well as a former member of Hudson Catholic High School Mother’s Club. Predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Rocco D. Capetola, she is survived by her children: Dolores Capetola Esq., Diana Capetola and husband John DeBrizzi and Dr. Joseph and his wife Diane Capetola. Mary is also survived by her grandchildren, Christine and Katherine Capetola, and Peter and Jordan Cecinini. One of nine children, Mary is predeceased by siblings Carmella Santomauro, Antoinette D’Angelo, Nicholas, Tony, John, Frank, Louis and Joseph Marmora. She leaves behind her care givers, in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. Services arranged by the McLaughlin Funeral Home, Jersey City.
