A funeral mass was offered Jan. 30 at St. Matthews R.C. Church, Ridgefield, for Mirta B. Fonteboa. She passed away Jan. 27. She was predeceased by her husband Pedro. Born in Cuba, she moved to Union City in 1965 and later in 2001 to West New York. She was a teacher’s aide in Union City for sixteen years, before retiring and becoming a retired Education Association member. She was the mother of Alina and Mirta Fonteboa and the grandmother Marilyn, Peter, Marvin and Howard; and is survived by her nephew Jose Garces; and many relatives in Cuba.
