BURNS, CLIFFORD L. JR

Funeral services took place Jan. 31 at the Salem Baptist Church, Jersey City, for Clifford L. Burns, Jr. He passed away Jan. 23. Mr. Burns was born in Bainbridge, Ga. At the age of 15, he attended Savannah State University. Mr. Burns served in the U.S. Army in the early 1950s where he was honorably discharged. He came to New York, where he met his wife of 32 years, the late Jean McGuire Burns. Mr. Burns was an airline mechanic for Pan American Airport, JFK Airport, N.Y. until his retirement in 1991. Mr. Burns is survived by his children, Tina Alexis-Payne, Clifford L. Burns III, Stewart E. Burns. He is predeceased by his son, the late Sean A. Burns. Mr. Burns is the brother of Louella Owens, Mary Frances McKenzie, Jannette Burns-Micheau and Wesley E. Burns; grandfather of Jasmine Lewis, Ashley Little, Darius Perkins, Courtney Megargel, Union E. Burns and Jeaniyah Burns; father-in-law of Tameka Burns and Jeannia Burns; and brother-in-law of Julia Pate and Vernon McKenzie. He is survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Services arranged by the Watson Mortuary Service, Jersey City.
