BAYONNE AND SECAUCUS — Last October, comedian Joan Rivers — in playing tribute to the late George Carlin — got in a few digs in at Hudson County.
In lauding Carlin, she described how the many TV channels provided by cable have everything including “CSI-Bayonne.” Later in the broadcast, Rivers segued to a clip of George Carlin as the Hippy Dippy Weatherman on Johny Casron in the 60s.and a quote from Carlin when he said at the tail-end about “the weather from Seattle to Secaucus”.
Carlin won The Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in 2008, and died about a week afterwards, his remarks — which were noted by Bayonne resident E. Betsy Parks — were from a WNJN broadcast on Oct. 10, 2009.
