Dear Editor:
I am extremely confused after reading Al Sullivan’s column this past week and his statements concerning Hudson County Sheriff Juan M. Perez and Senator/Mayor Brian P. Stack. I have to ask Mr. Sullivan, where in the world (or perhaps out of this world) do you get your information from?
We are aware that since taking office in January, 2008 Sheriff Perez has always cooperated with and assisted all Mayors, elected officials and those officials involved with law enforcement within Hudson County. It is noted that especially in the Heights section of Jersey City and in the northern municipalities of the county the Sheriff has made the resources of the department available to Union City, North Bergen, Weehawken, Guttenberg, etc as well as any other town in the south or west of the county. This is now a working Sheriff’s Office for the safety and well being of all residents of the county and there has never been a more cooperative Sheriff than Sheriff Perez.
And so, Mr. Sullivan it would be wise to check your sources and please stop attempting to cause problems between public officials when in fact there are no problems. Let’s be honest and constructive for a change.
Very truly yours,
Gino Tosado
