Tree lighting ceremony today

A Christmas tree lighting ceremony will take place today, Sunday, Dec. 6, at 7 p.m. at Town Hall, located at 400 Park Ave. For more information, contact Town Hall at (201) 319-6005.

Free special holiday concert

The octet vocal group, The Accidentals, will perform a special holiday concert on Tuesday, Dec. 8 at 12:30 p.m. as part of the UBS Atrium series, at 1000 Harbor Boulevard in Weehawken. The free lunchtime concerts are open to the general public and are presented by the Hudson Riverfront Performing Arts Center, Inc. (HRPAC).

Holiday bedtime stories at the library

A special reading of holiday bedtime stories will take place Wednesday, Dec. 16, from 7 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. at the Weehawken library, 49 Hauxhurst Ave. Children ages four to 10 are invited to come dressed in their pajamas and bring their favorite stuffed animal. Children’s Christmas Party

A Christmas party for children ages one to 10 will be held Dec. 18 at the Weehawken High School, 53 Liberty Place. The party and registration begins at 6:30 p.m. For more information, contact the Weehawken High School at (201) 422-6130.

Police ask for toy drive donations

The Weehawken PBA is asking for donations for their annual toy drive to benefit the Cops-for-Tots program which gives the toys to needy groups in the area. The public is asked to donate a new unwrapped toy for either a boy or a girl, from infant to 15 years of age, by bringing it to one of the two Weehawken police stations, at 400 Park Ave. or at 4518 Park Ave. Another drop off location is the Weehawken Volunteer First Aid Squad at 201 Highwood Ave.
