Hal Turner awaits jury decision in judge case

NORTH BERGEN — According to published reports, the jury is deliberating on whether or not North Bergen white supremacist radio host and blogger Hal Turner risked the lives of three Chicago judges.
Turner is facing charges that he threatened to assault or kill three federal judges after posting their photographs and maps of where the lived and allegedly stating that they deserved to die on his blog.
Federal prosecutors and Turner’s defense attorneys rested today largely because U.S. District Court Judge Donald Walter barred prosecutors from introducing any evidence of Turner’s alleged threats against judges. Gov. Elect Christopher Christie was also not asked to testify during the case, said reports.
After only two days of testimony, jurors will now decide whether Turner’s comments were protected under the First Amendment. – T.T.
