To the Editor:
On behalf of the Bayonne Town Center Board of Directors, I would like to thank all those who helped us in making the BTC’s Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony a success!
Firstly, I would like to thank the Department of Public Works Director Gary Chmielewski and the DPW crew (Keri, Anthony, Tommy, and Mark), led by Joe Mortola, for their tireless work in making our district “merry and bright” for the holiday season. Not only does our Christmas tree look beautiful, but all of the trees in our district make Broadway look spectacular! Thank you so very much for your hard work and determination to get the job done!
We would also like to thank Joan Rosen (director of music and art) of the Bayonne Board of Education for her help with the entertainment for the evening. The Bayonne Jazz Ensemble, led by Director Serge Puchinsky, and Sweet Harmony, led by Vocal Director Vasyl Hrechynsky, did a fantastic job and we look forward to working with you all in the future!
Thank you to Leo Smith for agreeing to emcee our event and for a job well done! We could also not have our tree lighting without our Mayor Mark Smith and councilmen Halecky, La Pelusa, and Ruane in attendance. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedules to celebrate with us.
I would also like to thank our board members who came out to support us: Patricia Murphy, Alice Lotosky, Aida Figueroa, and Vinny Bottino. Your dedication to the Bayonne community is evident in the time you put in to making Broadway our “Home for the Holiday.”
Lastly, I would like to thank the Bayonne Fire Department, the Bayonne Police Department, and the Bayonne Parking Authority for their help throughout the evening.
