JC deputy mayor indicted again


JERSEY CITY–According to the Associated Press, the former deputy mayor of Jersey City, Leona Beldini, who was arrested in July as one of 44 officials in an FBI sting, has been indicted again.
The AP reports:
“Jersey City’s former deputy mayor is facing more charges for her alleged role in New Jersey’s largest corruption sting.
“Leona Beldini has been charged in a superseding indictment with two counts of attempted extortion and three counts of accepting bribes in exchange for her influence in helping a developer get zoning approvals.”
