Mayor Zimmer: time to move forward

Dear Editor:
I write to thank the voters of Hoboken for their support this past Tuesday. I am humbled by it and honored to have the privilege to serve for a full term. The election was hard fought. I know from personal experience what it is like to put your heart and soul into an election campaign and fall short. All of the candidates stepped up and ran because of their love for our City. It is time to put the election behind us and work together to move Hoboken forward.
There are many challenges ahead. We need to be transparent and accountable to keep restoring the trust of our citizens. We need to improve the quality of life of our residents, while being fiscally responsible and fair to our taxpayers. We need to make sure that the goal of new development is to make Hoboken better, not just bigger. We can never allow our City to lose the small town feel that makes it so special.
I will continue to work hard for all of the people of Hoboken. Together, I know that we can make the changes we need, so our City can realize all of its tremendous potential.

Thank you.

Mayor Dawn Zimmer
