Kimberly Glatt says thanks for the support

Dear Editor:
It has been a privilege and pleasure to serve the people of the City of Hoboken for the last 14 years as Presiding Municipal Judge. When I decided to leave the bench to pursue other interests I realized that I would be leaving a wonderful group of people with whom I have worked with over the last decade. I have to say, that had been the hardest part of the decision.
Over the last 6 weeks, as I ran for the Office of Mayor, I was fortunate enough to meet and work with many wonderful people in our community. They listened to what I had to say as I listened to them. What a fantastic experience! We are a very diverse community with wonderful strengths. We now need to look forward and embrace all of our differences and make Hoboken the great city we all know it is.
While my foray into politics was not successful this time, it does allow me to participate in being a part of the community in ways I was precluded from as a Judge. I look forward to continuing to meet new people and obtaining a different perspective on our great town from this side of the bench.
I am not going away. Look for me on the soccer field, the baseball field and softball field. Look for me at the Library, on Washington Street, and Shop Rite. You may also find me in the park, in court or at a council meeting. School board meetings and bingo may also be on the agenda. I cannot wait!
Thank you to all who have supported me in my candidacy. The faith and hard work put forth on my behalf leaves me speechless. While I will not be acting as your Mayor I will always be here acting on your behalf. I only hope I can fulfill your expectations of me in the coming months as we go forward on our new journey together.

Thank you,

Kimberly Glatt
