More than 1,000 join Facebook tribute site for late Secaucus teen

SECAUCUS–Derek Lagos, 13, a student athlete at Secaucus Middle School, passed away last month. More than 1,000 people have joined a Facebook site in tribute to him. Many of them said he was a kind person and skilled soccer player.
One friend wrote: “I just wish you were here and didn’t take your life ; But you did your part in life ; and that was to make every one happy ; now we all have to be happy ; as if you were here ; also I figured out a couple things 1.) YOU is the cutest kid in the world and 2.) This whole thing has just made our entire school closer . I love your hugs there always the best ! Your always going to be in are hearts ! And I know your always going to be watching over me and everyone else . We love to so much ! I guess its true the good die young.”
One person has said that it was reported that Lagos may have suffered from a side effect of an acne drug he had been taking.
A person on the Facebook tribute page posted information saying that the drug had been recalled.
