STATEWIDE — Governor-elect Christopher Christie has apparently set up a meeting this week in Parsippany to interview at least one former Hudson County political consultant as a possible appointment as the state’s communication director.
Sources close to the new governor said Christie was slated to meet with a consultant on Thursday who has represented a former Jersey City councilman and a former Jersey City mayoral candidate.
Steve Kush, of Kush Associates, who represented Councilman Steve Lipski and other candidates in Hudson County over the last decade, is on the short list to be named Gov. Christopher Christie’s communications director.
Kush, who has extensive national experience representing Republican congressional candidates, was a key player in Chrisite’s recent victory over Democratic incumbent Gov. Jon Corzine.
Kush said he has been asked about joining the Christie administration and is looking to see if it will be a good fit for him.
