Ruben Ramos for State Assembly

Dear Editor:
Although there may be disagreement about the best candidate in the upcoming Mayoral Election, there is no doubt about the best person to represent Hoboken in the State Assembly. On November 3rd, Hoboken should be united in its support for our incumbent State Assemblyman, and native son, Ruben Ramos.
Sending Ruben back to Trenton for a second term will allow him to continue fighting for better, more accessible healthcare; stellar schools for our children; and a cleaner environment.
For Ruben, these issues are personal, not just political. As a cancer survivor, Ruben knows first-hand that access to quality healthcare saves lives. As a teacher and, most importantly, as a father raising a young family in Hoboken, he understands the importance of a superior public school system and of the need to pass along to our children a cleaner, healthier environment.
As a result of passionate advocacy, Ruben has achieved remarkable results in these areas in only two years in Trenton. Because of his sponsorship and support for New Jersey Family Care legislation, children in this State who previously did not have healthcare, now do. In addition, Ruben has championed the education of our children by fighting to make sure Hoboken students received their fair share of funding from the State and by working with the Governor’s office to help secure funding for school renovations.
Ruben not only fights for our children by working to improve their healthcare and education, but also by fighting to provide them with a clean and healthy environment. In the Legislature, Ruben is at the fore-front of the “green” building and “green” economy movements. He has sponsored far-sighted, progressive legislation that encourages “green” development and “green” building renovations through tax credits and other incentives.
Please join me on November 3rd by voting enthusiastically to send Ruben Ramos back to Trenton to continue working for all Hoboken residents and our children.

Sincerely,
Frank Orsini
