Four years ago I moved to Hoboken with my video camera and not much else. I had little knowledge of the town or its politics, and a work-life that had recently gone from perma-lance to free-lance. Thankfully, I soon found work from Beth Mason. She wanted me to film city council meetings and stream them on the web, because she believed strongly that government should be transparent and she had little faith in the administration’s ability to disseminate information appropriately.
I remember the first meeting I ever filmed, I only brought enough battery power for three hours, thinking a city council meeting couldn’t possibly last longer than that. Well the meeting kept going long after I was gone and Beth was none too pleased, but she gave me a second chance.
It’s three years later and I’ve filmed zoning, planning, hospital, housing, board of education and many, many city council hours on behalf of Beth Mason and http://wethepeoplereports.com
I’ve managed to build a thriving production company, ASL Productions, whose clients include American Express, Barnes and Noble, marketing and pr firms, websites, and even some broadcast networks.
My business would not be where it is today without the love and support of Beth and Ricky Mason. They are great people, who care deeply about this city, and Beth will make an excellent mayor. I urge you all to vote with me, 11D, Beth Mason for Mayor on November 3rd.
