Who replaced Cucu in Union City?

Dear Editor:
The purpose of my letter is not to enter into the debate over whether 2009 Latin Gramy Nominee, Cucu Diamantes should have been allowed to perform in Union City at the new High School Grand Opening. Such a decision was not in the hands of the residents or her fans.
I am writing to add to the story that appears in your newspaper about the Grand Opening Concert.
I was very fortunate to attend the opening gala concert, the show was exceptional and the facility was just amazing. The crowd at the Union City High School Performing Arts Center was on their feet applauding the performance by ENYI-K Trio, featuring Kennedy Ng, a member of the Union City Board of Education, who was asked to fill in for the scratched act, Cucu Diamantes.
I have resided in Union City since I was a little girl, my children attend the Union City Schools, and today I am bursting with pride that such a talented musical artist is a member of our Board of Education. I am confident that the Union City High School Performing Arts Center will showcase top talent, thanks to the standard that Kennedy Ng, has established as the first act to ever perform on that stage.

Truly,
Roxana Andrade
