A funeral mass was celebrated Oct. 20 in Madonna R.C. Church for Assunta “Susan” Carfora, 78, a long time resident of Fort Lee, on Oct. 15. She was born in Jersey City and was the owner/operator of IHOP Restaurants in Larchmont, Englewood, Bronx and Union City. She was the wife of the late Frank; the mother of Renie Corbin and her husband Donald, Portia DeGast and her husband Peter and Darlene Murray and her husband Michael; the grandmother of Kim, Hal, Robert, Darlene, Eddie, Steven, Heather, Suzanne, Rocco and Michael, Jr.; the great grandmother of Brooke Paige, and the sister of Thomas D’Alessandro, Jr., Eleanor Asta and the late Joseph D’Alessandro, Dominick D’Alessandro, Mary Dambrosio, Antoinette Mancino, Laura Bandiero and Carrie Asta.
